Because the Sacrament of Matrimony is a prophetic sign of radical commitment within the assembly of the faithful, the norm is that only parish members are married at Saint Pius X.

Those interested in being married at Saint Pius X must be registered at least six months before scheduling a wedding. All weddings are scheduled at least six months in advance to give adequate time for marriage preparation.

Marriage preparation includes:

• Several meetings with the priest who presides.

• Four meetings with a sponsor couple.

• Diocesan Beloved Retreat or Pre-Marriage Series

• One meeting with the wedding coordinator and director of Liturgy and Music to begin preparation of the marriage liturgy.

• Second meeting with the director of Liturgy and Music to finalize the marriage liturgy.

• Working with the wedding coordinator, who will assist the couple with the details of the marriage liturgy.

Members of the Marriage Preparation Team are paired up with an assigned engaged couple to help the engaged couple better understand both the blessings and the challenges of the sacrament of marriage. A prescribed set of materials is used as the framework for these meetings between the couples, but the actual meetings are personal and flexible, not rigid nor highly scripted.
