Responding to the call of Christ and his Church, the mission of the Catholic Social Teaching (CST) Group of Saint Pius X Parish is to stimulate increasing numbers of Saint Pius parishioners to become personally involved in alleviating injustices that impact the poor and disadvantaged and changing harmful social systems/structures.
We will seek to accomplish this mission via these general strategies:
1. Host regular meetings, generally on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Rooted in prayer, we learn together about the Catholic Social Teaching tradition and support one another in our efforts to inspire action within and beyond our parish community. Our meetings are open to all, and we welcome you to join us anytime!
2. Offer frequent presentations to the entire parish by persons already engaged in the work of service and social justice. We hope to build awareness of existing efforts and inspire increased volunteerism by Saint Pius parishioners.
3. Organize or publicize a variety of educational opportunities - forums, workshops, lectures, films, book studies, etc. - that seek to inform parishioners about the rich and long heritage of Catholic Social Teaching.
4. Steer interested parishioners toward the many outstanding ministries of service and outreach already available at Saint Pius and be on the lookout for new ways that our parish can respond to needs within our local community.
5. Be open to new opportunities to live out our mission!

As of spring 2022, our Catholic Social Teaching group is currently on hiatus. If you have ideas for this group or would like to volunteer to share your time and talent in a leadership capacity, please reach out to Ashley Logsdon (alogsdon@stpius.net). Thank you!
