The Indiana Scholarship Tax Credit Program, allows donors to contribute to certified Scholarship Granting Organizations (or SGOs) so that these SGOs can provide eligible lower income families with scholarships to attend quality Catholic education that best suits their children’s needs.
As a donor (small business, corporate and individual) to our Scholarship Granting Organization of Northeast Indiana, Inc (SGONEI), you will receive an Indiana State tax credit equal to 50% of the amount given, in addition to the federal tax deduction for donating to a 501(c) (3). There is no size limitation on donations accepted from corporate donors. However the total Indiana tax credit program has a $14 million fiscal year cap.
SGONEI, an initiative of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, is authorized by the Indiana Department of Revenue and the Department of Education to solicit contributions from donors (small business, corporate and individual) for tuition assistance to be awarded to qualifying families entering Catholic schools.
Your generous gift to SGONEI will help Saint Pius X to offer scholarships to qualifying students and families in grades K-8. These scholarships remove the financial constraints on low-income Indiana households that choose the best education journey for their children and make Catholic education affordable to low and middle income families.

What is a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO)?
A certified Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) is an entity that awards scholarships to eligible students. Qualified SGOs receive funding for scholarships from private, charitable donations. Those who have donated to an SGO approved by the Department of Education will then be eligible to take advantage of a 50 percent credit against their individual or corporation state-tax liability.
