Are you, or is someone you know, curious about becoming Catholic?
Maybe you were baptized in another Christian community but find yourself curious about Catholic practices. Perhaps you've been attending Mass with your spouse but you want to know what Catholics actually believe. Or maybe this is your first encounter with the love of Jesus Christ. Wherever you are in your faith journey, we are here to accompany you as you explore the Catholic faith!
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) process offers a chance to consider your own faith journey in light of the community and resources the Catholic Church offers. Led by our priests and energetic volunteer team, weekly group meetings explore Catholic teachings, rituals, morality, and prayer in a welcoming, supportive atmosphere.
Our RCIA group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 7:00 - 9:00 pm from August through May of each year. In addition to the Tuesday catechetical sessions, our RCIA community attends the 10:00 am Mass together each Sunday. Our next season of RCIA will begin on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.
You won't journey alone! Every RCIA participant is accompanied by a Sponsor - a companion and mentor in faith - who supports you throughout the process. You may already have a Catholic mentor in your life who you ask to accompany you, or one of our friendly parish volunteers can journey with you throughout RCIA.
The first step is to reach out to our Director of Adult Faith Formation, Ashley Logsdon, to learn more, share about your faith journey, and discern together the best path forward. Contact Ashley at alogsdon@stpius.net or 574-272-8462, ext. 122. Or, fill out your contact info in the form at right, and we'll reach out to you very soon!
We are always in need of parishioners to assist as Sponsors, who support RCIA participants in their faith journey and welcome them into our Saint Pius community. Interested parishioners are also invited to consider assisting with our RCIA Team, which provides leadership and logistical support for RCIA throughout the entire process. Please contact Ashley to learn more and to volunteer.
