Calling each person to full, conscious and active participation in the liturgy and in parish life, hospitality becomes a major presence for outreach to existing and inactive member. Processes are developed and implemented to help and invite people to find God’s presence in all of the moments of their lives, to support one another in meaningful ways, and to share the richness of Christ with others.
As part of our family faith formation efforts, we have focused efforts to engage parishioners following big sacramental moments (Baptism, 1st Communion, Confirmation, Marriage). We are currently recruiting a team leader and team members to support, and potentially grow, the Celebrating the Sacraments - Baptism Team.
The ministry's goal is to reach out to parents of recently baptized children by writing letters and providing materials that offer support and encouragement as they experience the trials of parenting young children (<5yo). The materials promote how to raise a family in a Catholic environment. Because much of the work is done at home at times that are convenient for the team members, it is a "behind the scenes" ministry of the parish.
