The purpose of the ministry is to support the Parish’s mission of evangelization in the ever-changing, visually-driven world, through the use of technology and media. The goals of this ministry include:
Provide the technical and audio/visual support required for Masses and other liturgical and parish events.
Equip other ministries of the Parish to use digital and electronic media as worship, educational and outreach tools.
Digitally record homilies and various liturgical, faith formation, and community-building events.
Responsibilities:
Monitor audio quality sound output for the liturgy and music teams, clergy, and other speakers.
Record video and audio of the Sunday Gospel and homilies and monitor online streaming when needed.
Create CD/DVDs, when requested.
Provide support for video and/or sound for baptisms, funerals, parish programming and special events, as needed.
Expectations:
Participate in training sessions to become acquainted with the Parish’s audio/visual equipment.
Serve at scheduled Masses in an audio and/or video capacity, based on Mass preference and availability.
Attend occasional meetings with the team for additional training and organizational planning.
Provide support and/or assistance for special liturgies (i.e. baptisms, weddings, funerals, etc.), parish programming (i.e. adult faith formation, guest speakers, etc.) and special events (i.e. social events, school band concerts, etc.).
