Because of the importance and the visibility of Liturgical Ministers, persons serving in these roles are expected to:
Continually strive to strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ through regular participation in the life of the parish, and an active personal prayer life;
Live in conformity with the teachings of the Catholic Church;
Not have anything in their lives that should cause scandal or embarrassment to anyone by serving in this role;
Serve when and where assigned, or take it upon themselves to arrange for a substitute;
Cultivate an attitude and demeanor of cooperation with all those who make assignments and all the parish staff;
Stay abreast of parish and diocesan communiqués and directives regarding this ministry and conform to all requirements that exist now, and/or are revised or added in the future;
Read and abide by the parish and diocesan guidelines for liturgical ministers.
