Instrumentalists lead, support, and sustain the singing of the Assembly and enhance our parish liturgical celebrations through the gift of their musical talent.
How the Ministry Works:
Each Thursday and Sunday, members report to the Liturgy and Music office to pick up a white folder with their designated music. They then report to the music area of the Church for rehearsal or warm-up.
Instrumentalists submit Mass preference information and dates of unavailability to the Director of Liturgy and Music for each liturgical season.
Expectations:
Instrumentalists are students in grades 6-12 and adults who are available to play throughout the liturgical year.
Instrumentalists attend rehearsal the Thursday before a scheduled Sunday at 5:30 p.m. They attend special rehearsals as called by the Director of Liturgy and Music for special liturgical celebrations.
Instrumentalists arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled Mass to warm-up with other musicians.
When an instrumentalist is not able to minister at their scheduled time, he/she needs to call the Director of Liturgy and Music.
Instrumentalists need to set aside time at home to prepare and rehearse music for the given Sunday, especially if they do not attend the rehearsal on Thursdays.
Please Note:
With the change to our new Mass times, each Instrumentalist must choose a new set of Mass preference times!
Please submit your new Mass preference times using the form below.
