Instrumentalists lead, support, and sustain the singing of the Assembly and enhance our parish liturgical celebrations through the gift of their musical talent.
How the Ministry Works:- Each Thursday and Sunday, members report to the Liturgy and Music office to pick up a white folder with their designated music. They then report to the music area of the Church for rehearsal or warm-up.
- Instrumentalists submit Mass preference information and dates of unavailability to the Director of Liturgy and Music for each liturgical season.
Expectations:- Instrumentalists are students in grades 6-12 and adults who are available to play throughout the liturgical year.
- Instrumentalists attend rehearsal the Thursday before a scheduled Sunday at 5:30 p.m. They attend special rehearsals as called by the Director of Liturgy and Music for special liturgical celebrations.
- Instrumentalists arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled Mass to warm-up with other musicians.
- When an instrumentalist is not able to minister at their scheduled time, he/she needs to call the Director of Liturgy and Music.
- Instrumentalists need to set aside time at home to prepare and rehearse music for the given Sunday, especially if they do not attend the rehearsal on Thursdays.
Please Note:- With the change to our new Mass times, each Instrumentalist must choose a new set of Mass preference times!
