Finance Council members gain a unique insight into the financial workings of the parish and how everything in the parish is interconnected.
How the Ministry Works:- The committee is composed of nine or ten members.
- Members are encouraged to analyze the various financial concerns in order to assist the pastor in making financial decisions.
- Members also help compile data and assist the business manager in the preparation of the yearly financial report for the parish.
- Members provide input on capital improvements, staffing expenses and any new or unusual expenses.
- Most members have a background in finance or business.
- Members are appointed by the pastor.
- Members are generally active in the parish and are expected to attend five or six meetings each year.
- Members are expected to review the financial statements and the annual budget.
