Imagine being the parent of a little person who needs a diaper change and there is no money to supply more than a handful of diapers daily. This is a sad fact of reality for many families living in poverty. That is why Christ Child Society of South Bend has pledged to help with ongoing need through supplying diapers to their referral agencies who use or distribute diapers daily or weekly in their year-round mission:
Center for the Homeless
El Campito
Foster Hope (CCS program)
La Casa de Amistad
St. Margaret’s House
St. Vincent de Paul Society
YWCA
CCS feels that this is a tangible way to celebrate motherhood while honoring the struggles of mothers in our community. Agencies have indicated that they most need diapers in sizes 3, 4, 5, 6. Christ Child Society's Diaper Drop collected 17,500 in 2020 and 40,610 in 2021. Their goal for 2022 is to collect over 60,000 diapers and you can help! There are two ways to donate:
Collection bins will be located in each transept and the PLC entrance from Friday, April 22-Sunday May 1. Donations placed here will be delivered to CCS on May 4.
Diapers may be deliverd in person to CCS on Wednesday, May 4, 9:00am-2:00pm. CCS facility is located on Miracle Lane in the Town and Country Shopping Center
