Are you in need of a spiritual boost? Join fellow parishioners each winter for our Parish Book Program!
Each year, every family who attends Mass at Saint Pius on Christmas receives a complimentary copy of a great Catholic book. We strive to select a title that meets people where they are and invites our parish community to grow toward where God is calling us to be, especially in light of our annual faith formation theme. Beginning each January, small groups form to read and discuss the book together.
Sign up to participate in (or lead!) one of our small groups.
Pick up a copy of the book when you attend one of our Christmas Masses, or stop by the parish office in subsequent weeks.
Start reading! You'll receive an email or phone call from your small group host with more details about your group's meeting schedule.
Becoming Eucharistic People by Timothy P. O'Malley
We can’t just talk about Christ’s presence in the Eucharist; we have to believe it, celebrate it, and live it - both individually and as a community of the faithful. And we must cultivate a culture in our parishes that treats Real Presence not only as an important Catholic doctrine, but also as the most important part of parish identity.
In Becoming Eucharistic People, theologian (and Saint Pius parishioner!) Timothy P. O’Malley, author of Real Presence, outlines four essential dimensions of a Eucharistic culture in a parish—one that fosters reverence and unity among the faithful, includes every dimension of human life in the mystery of Christ’s Body and Blood, and invites people back to parish life or to become Catholic for the first time.
We are very excited to feature this book as part of our 2022-2023 Year of Encounter and as Saint Pius participates in the National Eucharistic Revival. We hope you'll join us for our 2023 Parish Book Program!
