The Adult Handbell Choir supports and sustains the singing of the Assembly and enhances our parish liturgical celebrations through the gift of their musical talent.
How the Ministry Works
Each Wednesday and Sunday, members report to the music area of the Church where the Director of Liturgy and Music leads members in a rehearsal (warm-up) of music for each Sunday. Music is available at each member’s place.
Expectations:
Adult Handbell Choir members are high school students and adults who are available to play at various times during the liturgical year.
Each member commits to one rehearsal a week on Wednesdays from 7:15 – 9:00 p.m. Occasionally, rehearsals may be rescheduled to another day due to holidays.
Warm-up on Sundays is 30-40 minutes before a scheduled Mass.
When a member is absent, it is the duty of each member to inform the Director of Liturgy and Music and sign-out on a calendar in the Liturgy and Music Office. This helps the Director to plan for how many members will be present at a given Mass and find substitutes when necessary.
